Davgata

Davgata is a small settlement which lies in an elevated position approximately 4 miles from Argostoli. Davgata is situated on a mountain slope and a small valley to the east that are filled with farmlands.. The mountains features grasslands and bushes.
The 1953 Ionian Earthquake devastated this village destroying every building which took months to rebuild, it also tragically lost people in the village.
Visit the small Museum of Natural History where you can wander around the small building and view the glass display units which consists of many artifacts and specimens regarding the nature on the island, the geological phenomena, the National Reserve mount Ainos and the amazing sea.
Founded in 1996, this relatively new museum is supported by the Society of the Protection of Nature.
