Default Right Skala Lovers: Discussion time

I'm praying that if I make a monster effort to pay for myself to go away to Kefalonia next year, that my husband will realise just how desperate I am to feel that sunshine, smell those wonderful cooking smells, hear that wonderful chatter and my utmost love, to stand in the sea, facing landwards and think ... "This is MINE for a week .... obviously preferable two, but you know ... Credit Crumch and all that"

I want to try Scala ... I think there is enough there to keep me interested for a week. My OH and daughter love to walk, and I know there's lots of walking to do there.

But .. where do we stay ...give me some reviews ... I want to be near to the sea please as I love hearing the waves ...

    Hi Saffy

You will love Skala. Will you be hiring a car or would you like somewhere very close to the centre, so you can walk?

The places very close to the sea are either expensive or quite far out of the village. Just depends what you want.

Now there will be some people who fall about laughing when they read this, and I could be tempting fate here . . . but I may have a little place you could rent. Just hang on in there until I make my big announcement and the website goes live.

Would this be one of the lopsided houses you mentioned a while ago?

The Odyssey was 10 years wasn't it? Oh my, I feel ill now. Another 7 and a half to go!

The houses are no longer lopsided as I have had a team pushing them up straight.

The plant is doing well, Jed and survived the Force 9 gale last week.

    Saffy,

I'm not going to recommend anywhere as I think that would be seen as biased, but at the end of Rocky's little lane is a series of steps down to Spithi Beach. That's where all the fat German nudists go, but it is one of the lovliest beaches in Skala.

I bet some of you have never been because you've been put off by the thought of the nudists. The sea is totally blue and the sand is the softest you can find. We loved that part of the beach and I was more than happy to show off my fourteen ***** to the Fat Germans.
