Lefkas - Zante

While we are on holiday in Lefkas our eldest son will be on Zante. Â*It is Roger's birthday while we are away so I suggested that my son and his wife could perhaps find their way to Lefkas as we are on holiday with friends and maybe stay overnight. Â*I didn't realise that it would be so difficult. Â*Phil has already told me that he doesn't think there is any ferry companies that link the two islands. Â*Does anyone else know whether or not it would be possible. Â*I did find a flight for them but it would cost €156 and takes an hour which I was surprised at. The other alternative is that we all meet in Kefalonia as ferries run from both Islands. Â*If we did this we would obviously have to stay overnight Â* as they would be one end of the Island and us the other. Â*Does anyone have any suggestions. Â*Firstly we have to decide would it be worth all the hassle? Â*If we do decide to do it would we be able to find somewhere to stay for the night.

We leave for Lefkas tomorrow so I know it is short notice. Â*The flight company I looked at was Olympic, does anyone know of any other budget airline.

Sorry so late in replying Janette,

Think Olympic is the only internal flight so the only real way at a reduced cost would be the ferry. Your son could catch the 9.45am and if you didn't want to stay the night he could return on the 17.30. the ferry is only an hour so you could have about 6 hours with him and enjoy a lovely lunch without incuring rediculous costs. if he did want to stay the night I'm sure a studio would be available in the area for 25/30 euro and the morning ferry leaves at 7.45

Hi Cwm, thanks for the info, do you mean the ferry leaves from Zante to Lefkas or do you mean us all meeting up in Kefalonia? All packed now and ready to go but not leaving here until 11am tomorrow, flight not until 4.50pm from Manchester.

Meet in Kef off the Pessada ferry. 9.45am out of Zante should arrive in at 10.45am and can go back on the 5.30pm. Probably be even cheaper for them to come across as foot passengers and then pick up their car off the return ferry.
