You know you say it doesn't matter about the accomodation because you only sleep in it, you don't, you hang your clothes up in it, you sit on the balcony late afternoon with a bottle and have a nice relaxing read before you get ready to go out.
So when you have to hang your clothes outside before you go out to dry them out your'e not too happy, when you get into a damp bed your'e not too happy, when the dog that is tied up 24/7 behind a wall right outside your room that barks for a good hour or so at 6am and again at 6pm your'e not too happy.
The room was so dark and damp it was unbelievable, black mould on the ceiling and walls, all the clothes got damp, left a book on the bedside table touching the wall and the pages all turned up!
We didn't complain as we don't but we were sat out one afternoon when the rep came and I asked him to come in and he was shocked and said he would get us moved on the Saturday due to unforeseen circumstances he couldn't and we asked the owner to move us and as he had only two people coming for the 2nd week of our stay he was quite happy to do so, this made the last 6 days of our holiday 100% better and even the sun came out!
When you decide to go to two differnt beaches for the day and the bar/taverna isn't open and all surround looks like a tip your'e not too happy.
When you are so cold you spend a couple of days in jeans & jumpers, well can't do anything about the weather and it was exactly the same last June in Kefalonia so can be excused.
And when you are right on the only road in the island which is busy, well you know what!
The bright side, the family were superb they were quite happy to talk with my husband in Greek and he loved it, they even got me at it which is very unusual.
So we stayed there mostly evenings as it was a long walk down an unlit road to eat anywhere else.
Oh well never mind, if our first holiday to Kef was at Marina Bay in the middle of nowhere and we had to get a cab or hire a car to eat elsewhere we might not had been too pleased.
It's what you get used to.
So roll on September and all back to normal, have had probs with me mum but I'll put that on the rant board some other time!
Glad to be back and won't be going back!
