It has stunning views across to Skiathos and there is a restaurant with a massive window which has a blue frame. when you look through it towards Skiathos you can imagine you are looking at a picture.
From what i remember, there is not much in the way of accomodation available in Glossa itself although Loutraki at the bottom of the hill from Glossa, where the flying dolphins also stop has plenty on offer. There are buses at Loutraki which take you up to Glossa.
Skopelos town would be a far better place to stay. Although it is far busier than Glossa, it is still a very laid back place to stay. If you after hotels, check out the Dionysos hotel. Olympic do it. Check out their prices but then check out travel republic......you will be shocked! I have some other accomodation on Skopelos. If you tell me what you are looking for and when, i can pm you some contact addreses. 8-)
    Hi John

There are only the four of us going this year so looking for 2 apartments. Â*We have tried Travel Republic and each time I do search for holidays to Skopelos says there are none to be found. Â*I had heard that some holiday companies have pulled out of Skopelos so I'm not sure if we are going to have to go down the independant route. Â*We have a couple of of places in mind in Skopelos Town but looking for reviews on them (The Delsol and Sunrise Village) have found a couple on the Delsol but not Sunrise. Â*We are going on the 4th July for two weeks. Â*Would appreciate if you could pm me with some contact addressess.

    Thanks

    Jan Â*

Ps moved it to here being as another Island

Hi Jan, here is a good starting point for you. Most of these places are in the area of Skopelos town although some are further into the island.
You should find something from this lot but i'll post some more contacts when i dig them out. (very busy at the moment!)
Let me know if you find anything! 8-) http://www.skopelos.net/self/index.htm

    Hi John

Thanks for the link, its one ive not seen before, however the apartments we are looking at to book independant are on there. Â*The Delsol which is also known as Takis and Sophie. Â*The apartments were run by husband and wife Takis and Sophie but unfortunatley Takis had a terrible accident last year and fell out of an Olive Tree and was killed so Sophie was looking after the running of them on her own this year. Â*Do you know anyone who has stayed here. Â*Below a link which shows more than on one you sent

I will email another couple on there that look nice

    Thanks

Jan, i don't know anyone who has stayed there.......sorry.
You have probably seen this one too. It's about the only thing i have managed to come up with in the Glossa area. This is in Loutraki.

John I had see the Selenunda before but not the alkrotiri hotel, it looks very nice and some nice piccies on there. I noticed there isn't a pool here as well as the Selenunda. Always had a pool when we go away, I'm not one for sitting on beach all day, but now there aren't going to be any children with us I am wondering how important the pool is and is it really a neccessity. I have sent the link to the friends we are going with and see what they say. Where did you stay when you went?

    Thanks for the info

We stayed at the Pefkos studios Jan. They are on the main road from Skopelos town about half way between the town and Stafylos beach. The Pegasus studios which were on the first link i gave you were over the road from us ( and were much better than the ones we stayed in although they were decent!) There are some nice apartments in that area.
We were a 20 minute walk from Skopelos town...........which turned into a 40 minute walk at 2am with a gallon of Mythos on board! Aahh, brilliant memories! 8-)
Not the ones we stayed at but they look good!

Thanks again John, they all look really nice with lovely views. I feel like a travel agent here.... lol, I am keeping an eye on the flights for Kefalonia for my son and his girlfriend who are the only two that havent yet booked, looks like I am going to have to book them in a minute and pay the deposit until payday..... : , they are both skint after their fortnight away. I am also looking at Olympic Holidays and Travel Republic for package holidays to Skopelos, I have managed to get prices on Olympic but have just phoned Travel Republic as cant get quotes on their site and they say Greece havent yet released their hotels/apts yet for next year, so on with the search.

Great stuff Jan, it looks really nice. I have walked by it a couple of times. It's about a 10 minute walk from the main port area so you are well away from the bulk of the traffic. The main thing is that there are no hills to negotiate so it's an easy stagger back at the end of the night too! ;D

    Hey, Jan & John,

I've just been looking at The Skopelos Village Hotel, which looks like it's not a million miles away from where you've booked Jan.

John, have you seen the place I mean?

We think we might have a berak from Kefalonia this year, so the kids can see another part of Greece and it will be a bit more of an adventure for us. Rather than knowing the place like the back of your hand, what do they say 'familiarity breeds contempt'. Thats the way I felt about a couple of incidents this year.
