Staying in Skala Portamias.next to Golden Beach.
we are going for 2 weeks as it was as cheap as 1 week with it being 1/2term so having extra week of from childminding.

heard there as been quite a bit of building work I imagine it is a bit like Kefs.
been on a Thassos Forum and it sounds a good place and not to commercial
no Mcdonalds etc .

Make sure you get to Alyki but if your going to go get there early before the coaches, we got there around 10:30am by 12:30 we had greeks and Italians towels overlapping ours on the beach.

When you go there take a walk around the peninsular and to the old ruins. Also get yourselves down to Paradise beach but beware of the nudists!!!

Also go to Agia Panagia in the mountains above Skala Potamia/Golden beach lovely little village. And enjoy the transfer from Kavala especially the ferry trip watch out for seagul poo though.

And spend a night in Thassos town aswell.

Have a great time

And if you get chance pop down to Golden Beach for a meal in the evening.

Enjoy your holiday Sue, Thassos is a place i have often looked at too. I might make the effort when i see your piccies...............and if i can ever drag myself away from Kef and Skiathos! ;D
