You've done it now Jan............... I mentioned i had my flights to Skiathos booked for next June but was uncertain where to stay. I've looked at your piccies and also quite a few on photobucket and i've decided it is definately Skopelos for next year!
Kerrie, there were a couple of pics from places used in the Mamma Mia film, the chapel on top of the rock was one. That's where the wedding took place! Stunning...........

    Thanks everyone

John.... we loved Skopelos, second favourite Island now. We spent one night in Skiathos on way back to meet up with some other friends who were on holiday there and although we still love the Island found it really busy compared to Skopelos.

Kerrie.. a couple of pics were the locations of the film, will go back in and name them if I can

Minniehaha.....We did have a fantastic time. We stayed at the Delsol, which is situated just outside the main town but within walking distance (10 mins), I used to love the walk back at night along coast road to our apartments. Link to where we stayed below. While we were there none of the greek dancing etc took place. The owner Sophie husband sadly died the year before after a tragic accident so she now just runs it as self catering holiday accommodation

I would recommend there, but there are a few hotels along there that may be worth you looking into. Skopelos Village was a couple down from us and looked nice and it is where the cast from the Mamma Mia film stayed while they were on the Island filming.

Hi minniehaha, here are a couple more links for you. The first one is of the hotel i am thinking of booking for next year, and the second is my back up!
The last link has some wonderful looking accommodation dotted around the island.
With regard on where to stay, i would say anywhere within 30 minutes walk from Skopelos town. This is where most of the "action" takes place. There are wonderful restaurants and bars and it is a delight to wander around. The bus service up the island is excellent too. The other resorts are interesting too but i reckon you would need a car unless you just want to do nothing for the duration of your holiday...........which would be a shame because Skopelos.........and Alonissos need exploring!
