Francesco's Mediterranean Voyage

Has anyone been watching this recently?? Francesco da Mosto is sailing from Venice to Istanbul discovering the old Venetian Kingdom. I enjoyed his Venice and Italy tour programmes and some of the scenery shown on his latest adventure is stunning.

Last night he stopped off in Corfu and ventured to the Greek mainland to explore Ioannina and Meteora which both looked stunning. Although after looking up their locations on Google Earth it was one hell of a 'day trip' with Meteora being a full 150 miles from Corfu town!!

He's heading towards the Corinth canal this evening not sure whether Kefalonia will get a mention.

If anyone's interested in watching its on at 8.30pm on BBC2.

For anyone who has not been or never heard of the Meteora they are well worth a visit! One of Greece's little gems that is rarely mentioned. From kef to Fiscardo across to Lefkada, up the beautiful Parga by lunch time, spend the night there and next day a 3-4 hour drive to Meteora via Ioanina. Worth every minute!
