Building work around Xi

Has anybody been up to Xi Beach this season? I was wondering how the building work was progressing around there as there was quite a few buildings going up when I was there last year.

I can answer this one myself now I am back. There is a fair bit of building going on near Xi Beach including, to my great surprise, a large new hotel complex on the left hand side of the road as you approach the Cephalonia Palace Hotel and Xi(just adjacent to the Mercury car hire office). I am told it will be a conference hotel and it appears to be owned by someone in Lixouri although this is not confirmed. It is going up very fast by island standards though!
The development next to Xi beach has not moved on much further since last year although they have begun some landscaping, started tiling the roof and made provossion for a swimming pool.

Hi, my husband's from here and we have been spending our holidays in Xi for the past 7 years, except for this year, cause it was getting a little too noisy for us, although I still love it there, especially at Xi Village.
Ok, I've heard from locals that this huge complex is being built by Strintzis, the owner of Strintzis Ferry Lines... he bought a lot of land there a few years ago and that made the land prices go up dramatically. He has a huge house further down in Mega Lakko.
I'm not very positive about this as you might tell from my post, cause it doesn't blend in well with the Cephallonian architecture... one big block of plain white buildings ready to dump waste in the environment... He is from Lixouri and I'd expect a person from Lixouri to like his place a little better than that... but then...he's got all the money and he can do as he pleases and no one's going to stop him.
