Well i took the plunge and booked a one week hol again to kef arriving 23rd sept, i guess i will be the last one out, god knows what the weathers like that late in sept?. anyway can someone please tell me were abouts this place is, please bear in mind ive only been once to ket staying at 9 muses.

Well done Andy. We have had some great holidays in Kef at that time of year. Don't be surprised if there are a few board members out there at the same time

Hi Phil, I may be completely wrong but is that the same road as the one that goes past the roman villa? I got a cracking price, i think , £428 for both of us for a week with mytravel, good flight times also

I have attached another Google image with the roman villa marked in green.

The Marietta gets good reports. The large pool is just behind the Katelios road on a road junction, on the fringe of the village. The appartments/studios are terraced upwards behind the pool.

I would guess that the rooms are not up to the same standard of the 9 Muses - but I am sure they will be perfectly acceptable........... and what a cracking price you've got!! That is cheaper than most people are paying for flight only.

Are you on the FCA flight from Manchester? The timings are good although it is a bit chaotic on the return journey! - there will probably be 2 British planes and 2 Scandanavian planes on the tarmac at Kef so take some drinks/food with you rather than pay the *rip off* prices at the airport.

Hi Andy we stayed in the Eleanna Studios(Marietta Studios) in 2001 and they were newly built that year. The rooms are very well furnished and there is air conditioning which you had to pay for separately. We had a great time there and that is why we came back the next year and well you know the story from there. Hope you have a great time.

One of Eileens workmates was on the same flight and they were staying in the Marietta. They have been going back tthere for the past several years and they love it. Don't think you'll have any complaints Andy!

Phil, glad you agree on the price being good, I checked the day after and it had gone up £30, booked it thru travel supermarket. The flight is with thomas cook Phil, flying out on the 23rd of sept

I guess you're right accomodation wise between 9 muses phil, but we had an eye opener 4 weeks ago in samos, that was really basic and dark.

Must admit not my favourite Island and not sure if I would ever go back there!!

the resort we stayed in Votsalakia I thought was excellent, we decided not to get a car so didnt see the island really, although we saw a fair bit on the transfer to resort, including all the greek army tanks stashed in the woods. The landing at samos was interesting to say the least!!. Our apartment was a bit of a shock really after 9 muses, very dark, no tv, no shower curtain, nothing to hold the shower head on, open roof so allsorts of things were crawling in at night!! even saw a scorpion on our doorstep, never seen ants as big in my life & the mozzies were working overtime. never saw any mozzies in kef. The tavernas were first class though, excellent food, allthough for some reason your main course arrived 20 seconds after your starter which was annoying.

The biggest thing that i also didnt like was the state the cats & dogs were in, even had cats with broken legs begging in the restaurant, they looked awful, cat fights could be heard all night, along with the usual barking dogs that were tied up in the sun all day. To be honest I would stay at that resort again but not the evangelistria, they seem to be a little behind kef with the standard of hotels/apartments, which Im sure so people prefer, but i dont. When I get chance I will post some piccies up Jan
