    Tassia's restaurant, Fiscardo.
Tassia's restaurant, set on the harbour is a slightly different restaurant to the others in Fiscardo in that the bulk of her menu seems to centre on traditional Kefalonian cuisine. Well presented and beautifully cooked. The restaurant does not appear as well presented as others on the harbour area, perhaps because is it is more of a taverna. Very popular with the locals which says a lot! Prices are in line with the rest of Fiscardo, i.e not particularly cheap, but if you want an authentic Greek/ kefalonian meal, look no further than Tassia's.
Tassia has lived on Kefalonia all her life and has also written a book on Kefalonian recipes. No doubt you will see it on sale as you wander around Fiscardo. Theres are some excellent recipes in the book and it is also full of beautiful photographs of Kefalonia. Reccommended! 8-)

Yes john, I can recommend this book too. Lovely quality hard back edition with as you say lots of photos.
She also tells a short story to how she entered her life of cookery. A nice pressie for someone who likes cooking.
I purchased mine from Amazon for anyone interested in getting one.

I got mine at the Robola winery in 2004. I don't think they sell it now, but i think i bought mine in a moment of weakness.........................after sampling about 1/2 gallon of their wine! still, it was a good buy and i don't regret it.......even though it cost 25 euros! ;D

    We love Nerfeli's in Assos.

I love the thought of going there, I love the drive down the hairpins (we've seen so many snakes sunning themselves at the side of the road), I love parking outside the taverna, I love going on the little beach for a while and then sauntering up and getting a table overlooking the beach so I can people watch.

One thing I didn't like was that two years ago some arsehole stole my fishing rod while I wasn't looking, my money was on the French guy sitting at the next table. >

Apart from that it's a great day out.

    john,
Kefallon gave me mine as a xmas pressie, its a nice authentic book. I was going to get mine from robola but wasn't sure money would stretch to a gift for me so said we'd go back if we had money left over. It was so hot the last few days that we didn't bother going back and we ended up hunting it down when we got back.

We went for a cold drink at one of the tavernas right at the end of the harbourfront. It was mid- morning so we decided to hang on a bit and have luch a little later. When we were ready to go I asked if I could use the loo and a very curt young lady said NO I had not eaten there so I couldn't use her facilities.
We put it down to PMS.....

We didn't eat there but found a lovely taverna the other end of the harbour, next to the church.

Amazon's the main place as far as i am concerned because i have an aversion to shops, what a wonderful thing internet shopping is, don't need to go anywhere near one now.
Well maybe i will pop down Lithostroto once or twice during a holiday but even then i prefer a large G&T in the Ionian Plaza.
