    Default Assos

My favourite place & a visit must be done. We had a lovely lazy afternoon having lunch, just chilling & people watching.

    Shaz,

The restaurant next to the jetty is Nerfeli's.

    Cheers Jed,
but its the one at the other end the first one you come to which sits infront of beach :-/ with the white parasols.
Haven't tired that one Jed but it does look lovely.

Does anyone know the quick and easy way to get up to the ruins at Assos? I was reading a book review on Amazon about a kef tourist guide and the author (of the review) said that it was so helpful in that they used the recommended quick walk up to the ruins rather than the windy road most people use. We walked up the windy road - didnt know there was a quicker walking route!

Any advice greatfully received as we plan on taking kids up there for a stroll in September. If not then I guess I'll have to buy the tourist guide, although other reviews reckoned it was out of date and not very helpful to those who have been there before so I'm reluctant to buy it for these reasons. If no one can help then I guess I'll just have to part with my pennies as I'm curious now.

If you got the nerve you can drive up a dirt track other than that it's a hard old slog especially in the heat and the only thing you will gain from it will be the view cos there's not much in terms of 'fort' left to see except for walls.
