Default Car park & derelict building at Assos

Most of you will be familiar with this place at Assos - it is the main car parking area. The building has been empty/derelict for at least 8 years.

What prompted me to mention the subject was a framed photo in our studio bedroom which shows carports on the car park and it looks like the building (hotel?) is occupied. The sawn-of bases of the steel tubes supporting the car ports are still visible on the ground today.

The attached photo shows the place as it is now and my next post will be a photo of the picture on the bedroom wall.

Does anyone know anything about the history of this?

And here is a photo of the picture:

    Sorry the quality is poor.

As we actually got to park on that carpark this year, we had a walk around the derilict building.
wondered if it was a big villa or what. and how long it had been like that.
