Re: Restaurant and taverna reviews
Dolphins is one of the places we use whilst staying in sami, very good food. Seems to be one of the busiest, plus the locals use this one as well.
Also Captain jimmy's is the place to be, especially for that all important coffee and its great for people watching. Good ice creams as well. Whilst sitting with the locals you can make some good friends, last year our daughter was given teddies and flowers. she cant wait to go back!!

Re: Restaurant and taverna reviews
i'll certainly try helping you in naming the restaurants. Yes the people of sami are wonderful, they remember you not just because of your wallet or purses like many other places...but purely because they can remember you and they will show you friendship which will remain.
On each occasion when we have stayed we always by the fishermen a drink, last year we saw them walking about, they came up to us and showed that they remembered us. one in particular has even learnt to say hello with a great big gleaming smile on his face.

Re: Restaurant and taverna reviews
Thanks Kaz, that would be great.
Your point about the friendliness of the people i think is one of the things that brings us all back to the island. We get the same reception in Poros every year we go back.
A few years ago, i took Jamie on his first visit to the island and we went down to Poros for the day. ( We were staying in Skala at the time) He was amazed at just how many people came across and spoke to me or to shake my hand and say welcome back.
He said i think you have more friends here than you do back home. It's amazing that you just visit somewhere for a couple of weeks in the year and people remember you. when you think of the number of visitors the islanders must come into contact with over the space of the season, it's uncanny!
I know that in my job, if i saw someone regularly for a couple of weeks and then no more for a year, there's no way i'd recognise them the next time i saw them! 8-)

Re: Restaurant and taverna reviews
I dont know how they manage to remember us each year. Likewise here i could meet someone and then meet them again, and have no regonition of when we met.
The people of kefalonia are wonderful, there island is beautiful. I feel like its returning home when we go back out.
