Has anyone stayed here?

Ok, i know big h has stayed here and given us an exellent review of his time on the island.
However, there have been hundreds of people who have read this thread and followed KGV's life from it's conception as the KABC to the now KGV.
Has anyone who visited this post over the last 18 months (and still visit this site) actually gone on to stay here?
If so, we'd love to here your stories! 8-)

thank goodness for big H, a rare find i think we'll find.
John as i said last year with the posts we were recieving the mass majority weren't worried where the location was so long as the holiday was as discribed. It could have been spain, turkey, portugal, they didn't seem to care, i doubt many if any visit this site anymore as they have moved on.

Thanks both, I think Mallard did put a good report on before, I shall certainly post some piccies of KGV hopefully over the weekend if time.
I'm afraid you might not get rid of me so easily, we are hooked on the island. I shall be asking some further advice on studios we saw etc if anyone knows of them.
There were not many "Brits" staying at the hotel as I said in earlier notes, but certainly a few, some I talked to did refer to comments about the place on the internet, so had obviously looked at something. mainly Greeks and Italians when we were there, in fact Olympic only had 6 from Manchester going to the place from our flight which picked us up, although the Birmingham flight apparently had a few more.

I'm sure it will have more Brits next year as it is in a few of the big company's brochures for 2008. Looking forward to your pics and review. Was it at full occupancy then Big H or were guests in general a bit scarce still with it being its first season?

Hi, I have been reading this site since Feb! i've read the all the bad reports the arguments and crititisms. I have read about the all the cancellations and at times felt like cancelling my holiday too.

I was terrified about my holiday and expected the worst. I became obsessed reading the different websites everyday to hear more bad things...

However i have just got back from the KGV and had a fantasic time! It is a fantastic hotel, with lots of facilities. The animation team make you feel welcome and they showed us a fun and entertaining time in the 2 weeks we were there.

We came back on tuesday and now feel depressed to be back in England.

I know there were problems with this hotel last year but i don't think people should make negative comments until they have been there. I feel sorry for all the people that cancelled and missed out on a really good holiday.

Also there were lots of English people there, however there may have been more dutch but everyone was friendly and got on well.

We made sure we got to see the rest of the island and went on 3 really good trips. We would definately recommend the Beach and barbeque boat trip.

Thanks for your post cloudyday, and welcome to our site! I'm really glad you all enjoyed your visit and also took time to explore the rest of this wonderful island.
The negative comments you read basically came from the fact that a lot of people think that KGV is not for this island, a lot of seasoned visitors to Kefalonia will always feel like that, myself included. However, at no time have we wished that anyone staying there would have anything other than an excellent holiday.
The bulk of the criticism was aimed at First Choice for misleading customers into believing that the building of the complex was ahead of schedule and as a result destroyed the dreams of hundreds if not thousands of holidaymakers over the season.
We were accused of giving out false information....in the end we were proved right in everything we said.
The problems continued into the early part of this season too, the opening delayed by several weeks into the season causing customers to panic, fearing a re-run of last season.
As we have always been at pains to point out, KGV is not every Kefalonia visitors cup of tea. For some people however, it is an ideal solution to the logistics of catering for the needs of a family.
If it brings more people to the island and they can get out and about and see the beauty of her, then that is brilliant.
As i said earlier, thanks for letting us know you had a great time and hope you love Kefalonia enough to want to visit again! 8-)

I do understand what you mean about how the complex looks from a distance and how u can see it all over the island! and i admit it does stand out like a sore thumb at moment! but in the complex it is lovely and had very good decor.

We meet alot of people and they all had a good time as we did. I didn't hear any compliants while I was there. So hopefully now people will start to see the KGV more positively!

We loved our time on the island and at KGV. The tours we went on taught as about the history and culture of the island
