    Default Kefalonia Garden Village (again!)

I came across this on "That Darn Cat's" website. Phil you have obviously seen it but i thought it might be interesting for everyone here!
Basically, there is a rumour doing the rounds that KGV may not be opening it's doors this year!
Click on the link and makes your own minds up....it makes for interesting reading! :

I have just done a holiday search on the Thomson website and it was allowing me to book 2 weeks all inclusive at the KGV from 15 May at a price of £1341.50 for 2 people flying from Manchester - needless to say I didn't proceed with a booking!

BUT, if the rumours are true and the KGV doesn't open this year, I fail to see how Thomson could possibly supply an alternative all inclusive holiday on Kef. There is only the Apostolata that springs to mind.

Hi I have booked a holiday to KGV with Airtours for July 2008 :'(

Booked with Airtours nearly a year ago

Does anybody have an update on this resort?

Is it going to be open in 2008

Would appreciate help in this matter.

    Many Thanks

Hi Kate, and welcome to the board!
There have been lots of rumours going around about KGV but the rumours about the closure seem to have been unfounded and that it is booking up quite nicely for this year. There are also a lot of websites selling holidays for KGV so you should have no worries..............especially since you have booked with Airtours. I believe that First Choice bought out Airtours.
Kefalonia Garden Village has recently changed owners...........and there is a rumour going around the island that the new owners are............................First Choice!!
So i think you can now relax and sleep soundly knowing your holiday is safe!
Hope you enjoy Kefalonia and please ask away if you have any questions! 8-)

Welcome to the board Kate. Hope you enjoy your stay in Kef.

If it's your first time to the island please try to get out and see a bit of it.

I know if you've paid for all inclusive then you may feel your wasting additional money but the island really is worth it.

Many thanks for your help. Feel a little better now. It will be our first visit to Kef and although we prefer all incl, and have done this for the last 10 years to many different countries we intend to hire a car for a week to see the Island. Think it is a waste of time going to a different country and not seeing it. Would appreciate any hints and tips on places to visit etc.

Once again many thanks for your help

some of my favourite places to visit St.Georges Castle and stop off for drink at Kastros. Robola wine Factory,St.Gerasimos, Sami. Poros.Drogorati Caves, and Mellisani Underground Lake.
    These are just a few.

Add Assos, Myrtos, Fiscardo Aenos national park, the drive up the west coast of the island...................and back down the east coast! Argostoli.............and more!
Basically, buy a good map and you will see all the sights this wonderful island has to offer. You will fall in love with her, i promise! 8-)
I'm am visiting for the 10th time in June since 2001 and will be will be back in September for another 2 weeks. I'm still finding new places to see. Not bad for such a small island!
