    Default Winter is here!

At least we haven't seen any snow yet, apart from a few bits of sleet, but winter is well and truly on us! Only at the beginning of last week i was thinking about getting the caravan out of storage and having a long weekend away down in Yorkshire. It was so warm at the time i thought it would be nice to take in some of the Christmas markets.
Then on Tuesday the talk of the winds and snow started and i began to lose my nerve. I thought about hanging on until Thursday morning and maybe making a last minute booking if the weather looked reasonable.
When i woke up on Thursday morning it was blowing a hooley! No way was i going to take the caravan out in that I thought, well maybe Friday would bring an improvement. It was nice and sunny, a little breezy and fine for towing. I thought i would go for it.......until i stepped outside with the dogs for their morning walk. It was bitterly cold! Back indoors i laid the fire ready to light when i got back from the walk, logs stacked up, put a couple of bottles of wine in the fridge for the evening and turned up the central heating a couple of notches. This weekend was going to be spent in comfort........and the caravan was staying put!

Even us southern softies have been suffering with the weather,it has hardly got light in the last two days and some amazing hail storms. Still only a week and we are escaping down to the sun for a cruise on the Rd Sea, got the bug last year and its great to escape from the British winter.

The softies in the SE might get some northern weather tomorrow evening? ...........

At least we haven't had the snow bringing the country to a standstill (so far!) like we had last year!
Enjoy your cruise Martin, like us, you were worried about being around so many people all the time. I really isn't like that at all and you can always find a really quiet spot if you want one. It is a magical experience and as you say, to get away in winter is an added bonus!
