    Default Kefalonia flights

Paul, who runs the That Darn Cat website and Astro Holidays based in Aghia Efima has added a flight booking engine to his website. It is dedicated to flights to Kefalonia and is very easy to use.
Although the booking system is not quite up and running yet, you can check it out here. http://www.astro-holidays.com/flights.html
It should be a great system when up and running properly........oh, and it also includes the Easyjet flights too!

Booking flights direct with Thos Cook (and Thomson?) may be cheaper than through Paul's engine, but it is not possible to compare without giving all your personal details to find out whether meals, hold luggage etc etc are included.

People knock Easyjet and Ryanair, but you should (if you are familiar with their booking systems) know what the price of *extras* are before revealing all your details.

Flights to Kef with the two major players are certainly looking very expensive for 2012.

Last September we flew from Manchester to Shanghai with Emirates (via Dubai). The return flights cost £507pp. Total flying time (return) was 32 hours and this included 8 in-flight meals pp, unlimited free tea/coffee/wine/beer/spirits/soft drinks etc. Internet check-in and choice of seats were also included and comfort and legroom was very good on the A380 ............. and 30 Kg hold luggage is included as standard.

By comparison, how do Thos Cook and Thomson justify their flight only prices to Kef? (7 hours return flight time and no extras). Is it to make their package holidays look cheap?

I didn't think this post would turn into a rant, and this is not a criticism of Paul's booking engine. I wish him every success. But the two major airlines/tour operators to Kef are calling the shots and there won't be much competition from Easyjet until they secure regional slots. Roll on the day ............

Totally agree with your comments Phil, I did mention to Paul about the fact that his booking engine didn't actually mention wether or not the prices included the "extras" Your comments on the prices the "big two" charge to Kef are also spot on......i honestly don't think they can justify them!
As you say, Thomas Cook and Thomson currently hold the monopoly on flights to Kefalonia so there is never going to be a price war in the offing!
The main reason i mentioned the booking engine on here is it was a simple way of sourcing a flight to Kef as it is the only destination he has programmed into it.
