Just back from a week in sunny Kef
Just got back from a wonderful relaxing week in kef. Definately some changes out there since 2009. Greek food seems to be getting less and less in the tavernas in favour of italian and british. What was our favorite taverna in Svoranata had nothing really greek at all on their menu and their tables were empty every night during last week. So its nice to see people trying to keep the tavernas traditional by voting with their feet. The fire planes are now patrolling on fire watch daily with what seemed liked relays one on the ground refuelling while other takes over. seems a lot of new retail and car dealerships outside argostoli and a shiney new tarmac road all the way to top of mount ainos. Sea has been choppy most of the week and thunder and lightening on wednesday night. You now get a receipt attached to your brolly on the beach and Mirtos gone electronic with their receipts. Everything getting more commercialised with carrefour and lidl now just outside argostoli. Robola have a Organic wine on the shelves. Seems to be a lot more fuel stations along the main routes but not so good when the better half left all the money in safe and had to leave her at fuel station while I had to drive back 20 mins to get it, but all in all a very enjoyable relaxing week.
