All car hire in Greece will come with insurance which will satisfy all the minimum requirements so that you will be driving legally in the country. All will include some CDW (Collision Damage Waiver), but there will be an excess (anything between €200 and €2000) which you will have to pay in the event of damage. Some of the local companies on Kefalonia give FCDW (Full Collision Damage Waiver) as standard, but *inclusive hire cars* with villa holidays are usually contracted with an excess clause, which is probably where they make their money?
The additional cost to upgrade to FCDW is typically about €8 per day. I'll leave you to do your own sums.
With a policy like insurance4carhire, if you have an accident on holiday you will have to pay upfront with your credit card and then claim back from the insurance company. This might seem like a pain, but their policy does include a few things that FCDW does not. My £39 policy last year covered me for 5 weeks abroad !!
But having said the above I have never had to make a motor claim ....... but am happy with a bit of *peace of mind*
Send me a PM if you want any more info.
