Some of you might be interested in the following and I will welcome any comments from people who have flown with Emirates ......................

I've just booked return flights from Manchester to Shanghai with Emirates. The prices on their own website were considerably cheaper than any travel agent/ticket agent could offer - even the bargain basement ones.

There is just one short stop each way at Dubai and all flights are on Emirate's own A380-800 planes.

But best of all: I have pre-booked seats, meals (a choice of 18 different meal options for each leg of the flight), and we have 30 Kg luggage allowance each. All those were included in the price..... not add-ons like with most airlines today.

I have just supplied API and printed off the tickets ...... it all sounds too good to be true.

That sounds marvellous Phil, what a difference from flying "Goat Class" like we all usually do
Emirates is certainly a class act, TCX will never seem good enough again!

On an aviation forum I sometimes visit, passengers are referred to as SLF, which is "Self Loading Freight"
