    Hello all,

I've just joined this great forum and thought I'd say a few words about our property development business in case you or someone you know is interested in building a home on this lovely island.

We are one Kefalonia's most trusted and reputable property developers specialising in the construction of high quality, yet affordable concrete, timber and hybrid homes. We were the first developer to help a British couple buy and then extend a home back in 1988.

We are based in Lixouri (Paliki) but operate on the whole island. We recently completed the construction of a home in the area of Kounopetra and very soon we will be starting a couple of exciting projects on the east side of the island. Another project in the area of Lixouri is currently under construction.

For more information about building a home in Kefalonia visit our recently updated website http://www.kefalonianewhomes.co.uk/.

I'd like to draw your attention to the new '15 questions' section on our site. Do not build without it!!

If you would like to get in touch with me you may do so via my email address: chris@kefalonianewhomes.co.uk

    All the best!
    Chris

    Hi Chris

Welcome to the board. BTW, I moved your other post on the Lixouri peninsula board over to here.

I have just had a brief look at your website and I am intrigued after reading the pros and cons of construction materials. You state that timber construction has a longer life expectancy than concrete. I would be interested to hear what the life expectancy is of both forms of construction.

    Hi Phil,

Many thanks for the question. It's all relative but I'd say that if you did a like-for-like comparison concrete lasts around 80-100 years whereas a quality timber construction could last up to twice as much.
