Changes in Skala

we are returning to Skala and the nine muses where we have had four great holidays.Have there been many changes in Skala.I am very excited and counting down the days till 22nd august.

First of all welcome to the board.
You said in your original post that it is 2 years since you were last in Skala?

I don't think anything has changed at the Nine Muses, except that the restaurant at the front is no longer called the Aealos. However, I hear it is still very good.

There have been a few changes in the Skala area, but I doubt if any will affect your holiday unfavourably. Most development has been on the Poros road.
The Regina Dell Aqua (Plastic rocks) is open There is a useful mini market beyond there and a bakery/confectioners.

Taverna prices at most places should be fairly similar to 2 years ago. Petrol is now a lot more expensive and spirits (ouzo and scotch especially) are a lot dearer in the mini markets although prices in most bars are similar to 2 years ago. .......... That is my experience, but others might have different reports/experiences.

Agree with Phil, prices are similar to 2 years ago, never tried the Aeolos restaurant this time, mainly because all the original staff appeared to have gone also. I also think theres less chinese people trying to sell you massages on the beach this year ;o)

Andy, i think all the Chinese people went to Skiathos last year...........There were loads of them over there!

There were some in Thassos this year
Hotel owner came out with girl from Bar and I thought she was going to tell them off
She booked a massage we were very surprised.

Well, I saw one of the greek sunbed hire women having a go at them in english, clearly saying that they have no licence, they just seemed so stupid though, one would walk through and get no trade, then an hour later another would walk by, its pretty obvious I would of thought that most people renting beds are likely to have been there all day, so they are going to get the same answer NO!!!!

When we went along to ketelios for the day this year they were there, they asked me twice if i wanted a massage and the couple who were on the sunbeds next to us were asked at least twice aswell the answer was the same every time NO!!

Massage people on Lourdas, Kaminia and Skala this year. Same four people over and over again! Same answer - F*** Off!

Last day one guy who always wore a yellow t-shirt came over and before I had a chance to say no, he said OK, you f*** off man!

I had to laugh!
