    Lovely photos Jan. Don't be surprised if I can't resist adding comments/questions to them soon. Thassos looks almost as good as Kef to me. Are there plenty of goat tracks to explore?

    Yes i think you would like it as well Phil but the hills are not as good as Kefalonia's in my opinion. If you want rugged scenery i think Crete is good when you get away from the awful touristy holes around the coast the mountains and i mean mountains are very refreshing. The only down side for me was the shear size of the island meaning trips can be very long, that to me is one of the beauties of Kefalonia it is big enough to have scope for exploration but not so large you feel overwhelmed.

    Anyone else got any thoughts on places/islands worth visiting for those of us who like to get away from the beach and explore places and find greek culture still alive and kicking.

    lovely photos - only a few weeks until we go to Thassos ourselves. Will be our first visit, so cannot wait....Looks just the job..

    its a lovely place Kazzie this was our 3rd visit in May and 2nd to Scala prino
