Returning to Skala

Well this is my first post on here and I have to say this board looks fantastic. I did join sometime ago, but always had trouble logging on, but no problems this time.

We have booked to go to Thassos this year as it was such a good deal, so thought our return to Kef would be put off for this year.

How wrong I was, we've just booked a week in Skala for the beginning of June and needless to say I cannot wait. Just goes to show how difficult it is to stay away from Kefalonia. We got married in Kef last year, so it is a good excuse to keep returning year after year...

Just had to share my excitement.

hi Kazzie welcome back to the board. WE are of to Thassos the end of May beging of June it will be our 3 rd visit and we are of to KEF in August.

Have a great time in Skala. We go AGAIN end of June. will be our 6th time. Missed a few years as we went to Skiathos several times and Thassos.
Anyway back for last 2 years and realised what we had missed.

Thanks for the comment about the board. All the useful info and picture galleries/albums etc on here are due to the contributions from regular members - and especially all the hard work put in by Kefallon.

I hope you have great holidays in both Thassos and Skala. I must try Thassos myself some time as it seems to appeal to all Kef lovers who have been there.

Where are you staying in Skala? We are there from 18 May to 1 June, so will just miss you.

Welcome back to the board Kazzie! You aren't the only one to have had trouble gaining access to the forum mind. I went on holiday in January and came back to find i couldn't log in. It took nearly three weeks for me to gain access and it was through e-mails to Phil and Kefallon and chatting to other people on face book that it happened!, so as Phil said, just hit the contact us link if you have any more problems.
I'm jealous of all you people going out to Kefalonia this year. I will be missing her again for the second year running and i do miss the island. Hope you enjoy your visit and if you have any questions, just ask!
Me, i'll just have to make do with all the photographs in the gallery!

We're staying at San Giorgio. We know it is a little way out from the village, but for the price we paid and for some time in Kef we just couldn't resist. The walk to the village in the evenings will work off the dinner before we've even had it....Will be getting taxi's back mind.... Not stayed there before so looking forward to it, as have only heard good things about it. We usual go in August so it will be nice to go in early June.

Am looking forward to hearing about everyones visits to Kef this year, so will be using this board more often.

But, I don't think the roadworks will spoil the holiday for any of us staying at the Zephyros. Don't try to fill in any holes on your way back from the tavernas/bars. I'd like to meet you sometime, but not at the bottom of a hole in Skala High Street.

Hi Karen,

Welcome to the board, we've found them a friendly and helpful group and even met some and they are still friendly!!

We are in San Giorgio 1st to 15th June, so no doubt see you there. Unless it has changed dramatically the San Giorgio is great - we've stayed there a couple of times before. This time we are self catering there, previously been B & B, so trying a change this year. Looking forward to the holiday immensely.
