Talking Poseidon Apartments, Skala - just got back!

Had fantastic holiday and have fallen in love with Kefalonia! Apartments were very good compared to other Greek accomodation we have stayed in. 2 twin bedrooms and sofa bed in living area. Rooms cleaned daily, towels and bed linen changed 3 times during our stay. The owner, Maria, is a lovely lady, very friendly and helpful. Apartments just opposite Nero's bar so that's were we started every evening!
Had some lovely meals and the tavernas that stand out were Ta Pitharia, Mikelatos family and a little place that did the most gorgeous gyros plate- think it was Gourgios but not sure. Desserts at the Sugar Lemon are to die for!
Hired car from Greekstones and within 10 minutes of driving got flat tyre, Antonis was brilliant, sorted it in no time and couldn't do enough to help.
Loved Myrtos, Antisammos and Assos. Would recommend boat trip to Ithaka with Captain Vangelis, had fab day and kids loved jumping off boat into crystal clear water.
After driving round island im glad we chose to stay in Skala, theres just the right amount and mix of bars and tavernas. Beach was gorgeous even though you come out of sea on your hands and knees in some pebbly areas!
All in all we had brilliant holiday and would definitely recommend Kefalonia to others.

    Hi Louise

Welcome back ......... but I suspect you probably wish you were still in Kef

I'm pleased to hear you got out and about on the island. People who stay by the pool and beach all day don't know what they are missing .

Thanks for your feedback. Will you be back next year?

Hi Louise, sounds great, I love Kef but I've never been to Scala and am thinking of giving it a go, how is the beach I know it's big, are there many people and can you get away from it all there if that's what you like to do? Is it still super frying hot hot hot out there, I just got back a few days ago

As much as i would love to go back to Skala next year we also like to try somewhere new and sadly we can't afford 2 holidays a year. Fingers crossed for winning numbers on Lotto!
The beach in Skala is massive and we went to different parts of it each time, it was never crowded and the further to the right you go there are lots of little coves you can have to yourself. I can normally lay all day in the sun but some days were SO hot even i was running for shade!
    Will put photos on shortly.
