On New Year's Eve visited "Fusion" the new place in Skala for its opening night.
Lots of lovely food provided - hopefully a taste of the menu to come. Opposite the (top) square, it will be a great place to sit and people watch in the summer.
New Year's Day was beautiful - so many flowers in bloom at the moment including my favourite irises. A small earthquake this morning apparently - I didn't actually feel it . . . Although the wind is blowing a bit now and there have been a couple of short, sharp showers, my outside thermometer is showing 17.9 degrees at 2am.

    Now i am jealous has not got above freezing in the Uk for what seems like weeks!!!!

    ........................ Reading this, it seems strange to me why everyone who lives in Kefalonia wants to come back to the UK for the winter months!! I think that given the choice i would come back to the UK in July and August and spend the rest of the year on Kefalonia!!
    17 Degrees st 2am in January or minus 5 in Newcastle?? .............No competition there!!

    Well, I'd quite like a snowy day. But just the one.
    We are due a very cold night tomorrow if that makes you feel better!

    I think a lot of people who live in Kefalonia prefer it in the winter. I'm not sure why people would go back to the UK for the winter months. The light is much gentler and the scenery therefore much more beautiful in winter. And none of those ****** tourists! :-) Or not many. I agree that the month to go to the UK (if you have to go at all) is August.

    Tonia and myself have always said that when we move we will look forward to the winters more than Summers although we realise it at times will be cold and miserable but for a lot less time than the UK.
    The cold snaps bad timing for any brave souls jumping off the Drapano on Epitany , if they still do it...
