We are now down to 8 sleeps before we fly out.

Its like we've never been abroad before. The last time we flew on holiday was the day after 9/11 and all the chaos that was then.

In the past we've visited Bulgaria several times and Halkidiki once (9/11). Since then we have used our trusty touring caravan for all our holidays with the odd excursion on a city break (coach)

I (mick) had the chance to visit Kefalonia about 15 years ago as part of the overseas volunteers network looking after the turtle nesting sites. Unfortunately they required me to be there for 13 weeks and there was no way work would allow me to have that much time off.

Now I will finally get there and best of all Gill will be there with me. Finances are a little stretched but hopefully we should have enough to do some of the things we have planned to do. We will probably hire a car from Venus for a few days but will have to see how the finances are when we are there. If we don't manage that, it just means we will have to go again to Kefalonia but spend it at a different venue

All the reviews and comments have been avidly read and re-read, Photo albums explored and the Katelios resort map someone uploaded has been downloaded and put with our flight tickets, etc.

Just itching to get on that plane and start the holiday. May even bump into a few other board members while out and about (car or otherwise)

A trip (walk) to Skala seems to be a must along with a visit to Nero's.
